169 stocks hit their 52-week lows today on NSE (National Stock Exchange) as the Indian equity markets fell for the fourth straight day. Weaker than estimated profits for the fourth quarter of the financial year 2017-18 dragged the benchmarks down.

Among companies that hit the 52-week low today, many names belonged to the banking or financial services sector including Bank of Baroda, Central Bank of India, Corporation Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, UCO Bank and Syndicate Bank. The quarter of January-March 2018 has been hard on most banks from RBI's (Reserve Bank of India) revised the norms on bad loan resolution framework and widening share of non-performing assets (NPAs).
Nifty bank also settled at 25,875.60 after a 0.76 percent drop (198.20 points) than its previous close.
