The employees from the organized sector may get double or even triple time the amount as pension money. The move if implemented will cost the exchequer a sizeable corpus and at the same time will be rewarding to lakhs of pensioners in the country.

There is a strong suggestion to hike the monthly pension amount which currently stands at just Rs. 1000 on a month on month basis.
The committee of three members has been constituted from the labour ministryfor minimum pension decision and it opines that "we have discussed that the minimum pension should be between ₹ 2,000 to ₹ 5,000 instead of the present ₹ 1,000". Also the member from the committee added, "the committee has suggested that the government should immediately announce ₹ 2,000 as minimum pension. The further enhancement up to ₹ 5,000 can be debated and arrived at over time. The government has a responsibility and, I think, the poor workers should be provided with an enhanced pension".
The proposition placed is that the meager sum of Rs. 33 on a daily basis is not just to meet even the food expenses of the individual even in rural areas.
A detailed discussion on the issue is expected to take place in the meetings organized this week. The decision if taken shall be in the favour of the low waged class employees who this way will get the much needed support from the government to meet their day to day living.
