Godrej Group's Smitha V Crishna who owns one-fifth of the Godrej Group along with her brothers commands a net worth of Rs. 37,570 crore and tops the richest Indian woman list as per the Kotak Wealth Hurun - Leading Wealthy Women 2018 report.

The list compiled by Kotak Wealth Management and Hurun Report India is based on the total net worth of leading Indian women as on June 30, 2018. The list featuring a wealth threshold of about Rs. 1000 crore includes 100 richest women of the country.

In respect of the top 10 richest Indian women, the threshold was over Rs. 8000 crore while for these 100 women, the average wealth stood at around Rs. 4000 crore.

Second rank in the list was held by Roshni Nadar of HCL with a net wealth of Rs. 30,200 crore who was followed by Bennett Coleman's Indu Jain and Biocon's Kiran Majumdar-Shaw who individually command a net worth of Rs. 26,240 crore and Rs. 24,790 crore, respectively.

MD and Chief Researcher Anas Rahman Junaid of Hurun Report India was quoted in a report as saying, "The women in the Hurun India Rich List have increased from 4 per cent in 2012 to 9 per cent in 2017. With India's thriving consumer spending and a maturing tech ecosystem, we expect more women to lead the entrepreneurship story in India".

Mazumdar Shaw shares the distinction as the self-made wealthiest woman entrepreneur. The 10th position on the list is held by Outcome Health's Shradha Agarwal with an estimated total wealth of 8,200 crore and is the youngest in the chart.

The report also highlighted that 22 women in the list were from the pharmaceuticals sector followed by 12 and 8 women from the software and services and food & beverages sector, respectively.

Also, the report noted that Thermax's Anu Agha. Amalgamation Group's Mallika Srinivasan, Indra Nooyi of PepsiCo actively take up CSR and philanthropic activities.
In respect of cities, 25 super-rich Indian women are from Mumbai and Delhi each while Bengaluru hosted 14 such women.
