As the new laws imposed by the Indian government come into effect from tomorrow, at least if not on a permanent basis, you may a see a whole range of products go off the shelf from the e-commerce site such as Amazon, which have now become your must-go shopping destination.

Some of the products that you may no longer find on the site include iPhones, the US ecommerce site's own Echo speakers. It is expected that the products that account for Amazon's estimated annual sales in India of $6 billion will completely vanish from the space.
In sync, Flipkart that last year became a Walmart group company, will also take off some of the products primarily from the apparels category, wherein it sells a number of goods manufactured by its affiliated companies. And as per a consulting firm, the company during the interim period, will lose as much as one-fourth of its total sales.
Amazon in a leading daily is quoted as saying, "We remain committed to be compliant to all local laws, rules and regulations". And it further said, that the company has asked clarification from the government on new laws and asked four month time for further compliance.
The scenario hints at the impact on the US companies operating out of India, which has logged 77th position worldwide in the ease of doing business.
And the move follows the announcement by the Modi government that asks foreign companies to not sell goods of affiliated companies. Furthermore, to continue their operations, such US-based e-market places will have to transform to digital bazaars for independent traders similar to e-Bay.
