Shares of automobile companies were in green in the first half of Tuesday's trade session.

Eicher Motors was the best performing stock on Nifty 50 and Nifty Auto Index as it extended its gains for the third consecutive trade session. Its share price rose by over 4.5 percent to Rs 19,999.20 on Tuesday on NSE. The stock has advanced 6.2 percent in the last five days and 15 percent in the last 30 days.

Shares of Bosch Ltd were trading 3.27 percent higher at Rs 13,781.40 apiece, Hero MotoCorp rose by close to 3 percent to Rs 2,698, Amara Raja Batteries was up by 0.55 percent to Rs 688.50, Bajaj Auto Ltd rose by 1.59 percent to Rs 3,004.85, Ashok Leyland jumped by 2 percent to Rs 69.65 and Maruti Suzuki was up by close to 3 percent to Rs 7,019.

The Nifty Auto index was trading nearly 2 percent higher at 7,668 at 1 pm.
