Many times it happens that people want to update their demographic details including name, address, date of birth, gender, and mobile number on their Aadhaar Card, but they don't know how to do it. If you are one of those people this article is for you. In this article, we will tell you how you can update your details on your Aadhaar Card in just a matter of few minutes by following a few simple steps. Before we proceed on steps on how to update your Aadhaar card it is important to note that if your Aadhaar database is accurate and up-to-date it can save you from fraud and Aadhaar misuse, enhance the Aadhaar authentication success rate, and Aadhaar-related services offered by the government.
It is also worth mentioning that the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) charges a fee of Rs 50 for Aadhaar card update. However, the government had made this service free of cost till September 14. This means that now if you update your Aadhaar Card you might have to pay a fee of Rs 50, unless there is an extension to September 14 deadline.

Earlier, this free service was available till June 14, but then it was extended by three months.
Step-By-Step Guide On How To Update Aadhaar Card Online
- Visit the MyAadhaar portal or the official Aadhaar website (myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in)
- Click on "Login" and fill in your Aadhaar card number and captcha

Recently, UIDAI said via a post on X (Earlier Twitter), that the government never asks for Proof of Identity or Proof of Address documents through WhatsApp or email for an Aadhaar card update.
The tweet read: "#BewareOfFraudsters UIDAI never asks you to share your POI/ POA documents to update your #Aadhaar over Email or WhatsApp. Update your Aadhaar either online through #myAadhaarPortal or visit Aadhaar centers near you."
