Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL) anticipates a significant increase in revenue from its engineering courses over the next three to four academic years. Deepak Mehrotra, the Managing Director and CEO, highlighted this potential during the launch of new IIT-JEE courses. He attributed the company's growth to the expansion of new IITs and medical institutes.

Currently, medical students make up 70-72% of AESL's total student body, with 76-78% of revenue coming from medical courses. Mehrotra sees a substantial opportunity to boost revenue from engineering courses, aiming to double it within the next few years. This growth is expected as more students opt for engineering education.
New AI-Supported Programme Launch
AESL has introduced Aakash Invictus, an artificial intelligence-supported test preparation programme for IIT-JEE aspirants. Initially, this campus-based programme will be available in 25 cities, while the online version will be accessible nationwide. The programme aims to provide comprehensive support to students preparing for competitive exams.
The programme will be supported by a team of 500 faculty members and can accommodate up to 30,000 students. However, AESL plans to limit enrolment to between 20,000 and 25,000 students. The selection process for Aakash Invictus involves a specialised entrance test.
Flexible Learning Options
Students joining in the 11th standard can enrol in a two-year programme, while those in the 10th standard can opt for a three-year course. The online module will be priced 20-25% lower than the campus programme, with support tailored based on student feedback and response.
The Aakash Invictus programme will be available in cities including Delhi NCR, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Meerut, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Varanasi, Jaipur, Kota, Patna, Ranchi, Bokaro, Kolkata, Durgapur, Bhubaneswar, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Indore, Bhopal, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore.
Addressing Parental Concerns
Mehrotra mentioned that AESL's research revealed parental dissatisfaction with coaching centres concentrated in certain cities. "They have now started turning into suicide factory. They want a reliable trusted brand closer to their home where they can send their child," he stated. This concern led to the development of Aakash Invictus.
Additionally, there is an increasing interest among female students in professional programmes. Parents prefer sending their daughters to nearby institutions for safety and convenience. This trend further supports AESL's decision to expand its reach across various locations.
Expansion Plans
AESL currently operates over 315 centres across India with more than 400,000 enrolled students. The company plans to extend its services to 125 additional cities this year through a combination of physical classrooms and digital courses. This expansion aims to cater to the growing demand for quality education across the country.
AESL's strategic initiatives reflect its commitment to providing accessible and reliable educational opportunities for students nationwide. By leveraging technology and addressing parental concerns, AESL aims to enhance its offerings and reach more aspiring students in diverse regions.
