In a significant achievement, Adani Electricity Mumbai has secured the top position in the performance ranking of power distribution companies for the year 2022-23. The announcement was made on Monday, highlighting the company's exceptional performance in the sector.

Torrent Power Companies Secure Second and Third Positions
Following closely behind Adani Electricity Mumbai, Torrent Power Surat and Torrent Power Ahmedabad bagged the second and third positions respectively in the 12th edition of the Integrated Rating of Discoms. The rankings were released by Union Minister for Power and New & Renewable Energy, R K Singh.
A+ Rating for 14 Distribution Companies
In a remarkable feat, as many as 14 out of the 55 distribution companies evaluated received the highest A+ rating. These companies hail from states such as Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh, showcasing their commitment to delivering reliable and efficient power distribution services.
Performance Ratings of Other Utilities
In addition to the A+ rated companies, the performance ratings of other utilities were as follows: 4 received A, 7 received B, 13 received B-, 11 received C, and 6 received C-. Notably, no utility received the lowest rating of D, indicating the overall improvement in the performance of power distribution companies across the country.
Private Utilities with A+ Rating
Two private utilities, TPNODL Odisha and DNHDDPDCL Dadar, Nagar & Haveli, Daman & Diu, also achieved the A+ rating. However, they were not included in the main ranking list as they have not yet completed three full years of operations.
Gujarat's State Power Utilities Excel
Gujarat's state power utilities, Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (DGVCL) and Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (UGVCL), demonstrated their proficiency by securing the fourth and fifth positions respectively in the rankings.
The performance ranking of power distribution companies for 2022-23 serves as a testament to the dedication and commitment of these organizations in providing reliable and efficient electricity to consumers across India. The achievements of Adani Electricity Mumbai, Torrent Power companies, and other utilities underscore the progress being made in the power distribution sector, ensuring better services for citizens and industries alike.
