On April 22, 2025, a tragic event unfolded in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, where terrorists targeted tourists. The attack resulted in several fatalities and numerous injuries. The Resistance Front (TRF), a terrorist group supported by Pakistan, claimed responsibility for this incident. This attack is noted as the most severe since the Pulwama attack in 2019.
In response to the attack, Air India has announced that passengers can cancel or reschedule flights to and from Srinagar without any fees until April 30. This decision prioritises passenger safety and convenience during this challenging time.
To accommodate the increased demand for travel, Air India has introduced two extra flights from Srinagar to Delhi and Mumbai on April 23, 2025. The flight to Delhi is scheduled to leave at 11:30 am, while the Mumbai flight will depart at 12:00 pm. Bookings for these flights are currently available.
Air India Express has also waived all charges for cancelling or rescheduling tickets for flights to and from Srinagar until April 30, 2025. Passengers can manage their bookings through the airline's website or WhatsApp Assistant at +91 63600 12345.
Travellers are advised to verify their travel status before heading to the airport by contacting Air India's official website or customer care numbers: 011 69329333 or 011 69329999. Due to security concerns, travel plans may need adjustments.
Air India Express and other major airlines have collectively decided not to impose any fees for cancelling or changing flight dates to and from Srinagar. This measure aims to ease travel disruptions amid the current security situation.
Guidelines for Travellers
If you plan to visit Srinagar, it is crucial to check your ticket status through the airline's website or customer service. Additionally, adhere to safety advice and government guidelines before travelling.

The recent waiver of cancellation and rebooking charges by Air India Express reflects the heightened security concerns in Jammu and Kashmir. This initiative ensures passengers can adjust their travel plans without financial penalties during this period of uncertainty.
