Andhra Pradesh IT and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh announced on Monday that the state government is shifting its focus from Ease of Doing Business (EODB) to Speed of Doing Business (SODB). This new approach aims to expedite the creation of industrial zones for major global manufacturers like Foxconn.

Lokesh shared this vision in a post on X, following a meeting with a delegation from Foxconn led by V Lee. He expressed enthusiasm for Foxconn's plans in India, which include expanding manufacturing facilities for electric vehicles, digital health, and electronic components.
Focus on Speed of Doing Business
During the meeting, Lokesh highlighted Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's vision to develop large manufacturing facilities. He assured Foxconn that Andhra Pradesh is ready to support the establishment of design and Global Capability Centres (GCC) as well.
"Our government believes that the era of Ease of Doing Business (EODB) is over. Speed of Doing Business (SODB) is the new mantra and we will aim to move the fastest to create industrial zones for Foxconn and other large global manufacturing firms," Lokesh stated.
Commitment to Industrial Growth
Lokesh also promised that Andhra Pradesh would provide all necessary facilities to develop a manufacturing city, thereby creating more job opportunities. This commitment aligns with Naidu's emphasis on the SODB mantra during discussions with business executives at Sri City.
The minister's remarks underscore the state's dedication to accelerating industrial development and attracting significant investments from global tech giants like Foxconn. This strategy is expected to boost economic growth and employment in the region.
By adopting the SODB model, Andhra Pradesh aims to streamline processes and reduce bureaucratic delays, making it easier for companies to set up operations quickly. This proactive approach is designed to position the state as a preferred destination for large-scale manufacturing projects.
The state government's focus on speed and efficiency reflects its ambition to stay competitive in the global market. By facilitating faster project implementation, Andhra Pradesh hopes to attract more international investors and drive sustainable economic development.
The meeting with Foxconn's delegation marks a significant step towards realising this vision. As Andhra Pradesh continues to prioritise speed in its business dealings, it aims to create a conducive environment for industrial growth and innovation.
This shift from EODB to SODB signifies a strategic move by Andhra Pradesh to enhance its appeal to global manufacturers. The state's commitment to providing robust infrastructure and support services is expected to yield positive outcomes for both investors and the local economy.
In summary, Andhra Pradesh's new focus on Speed of Doing Business aims to foster rapid industrial development, attract major global firms, and generate employment opportunities. This initiative reflects the state's proactive stance in driving economic progress through efficient and swift business practices.
