Apple has appointed Kevan Parekh as its new Chief Financial Officer, adding to the growing list of Indian-origin executives in top positions at global companies. Parekh, 52, will succeed Luca Maestri, who will step down from his role on January 1, 2025. Maestri will continue to oversee Corporate Services teams, including information systems and technology, information security, and real estate and development, reporting directly to Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Kevan Parekh's Background
Kevan Parekh, currently Apple's Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis, will join the executive team as CFO. Tim Cook praised Parekh's intellect, judgment, and financial acumen, stating, "For more than a decade, Kevan has been an indispensable member of Apple's finance leadership team, and he understands the company inside and out." Parekh has been with Apple for 11 years and leads Financial Planning and Analysis, G&A and Benefits Finance, Investor Relations, and Market Research.
Before his current role, Parekh managed Worldwide Sales, Retail, and Marketing Finance. He began his career at Apple by supporting Product Marketing, Internet Sales and Services, and Engineering teams financially. Prior to joining Apple, Parekh held senior leadership roles at Thomson Reuters and General Motors. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
Transition Period
Luca Maestri expressed confidence in Parekh's transition to the CFO role. He stated, "...and I have enormous confidence in Kevan as he prepares to take the reins as CFO. He is truly exceptional, has a deep love for Apple and its mission, and he embodies the leadership, judgment, and values that are so important to this role." Reports indicate that Maestri has been preparing Parekh for this role over the past months.
