The interest rates on fixed deposits (FDs) under Rs 2 Cr have been modified by private sector lender Axis Bank. The bank is now giving maximum standard rates of 7.10% for a duration of 15 months to 5 years and 7.75% for senior citizens for a tenure of 5 years to 10 years. As a result of the amendment, Axis Bank FDs with maturities ranging from 7 days to 10 years now provide interest rates to the general public that range from 3% to 7%, and senior citizens that range from 3.5% to 7.75%. According to the bank's official website, the new FD rates are in effect as of September 18, 2023.

The bank currently offers an interest rate of 3% on fixed deposits (FDs) that mature within the next 7 to 29 days, and 3.50% on those maturing in the next 30 to 45 days, according to Axis Bank. Axis Bank is now giving interest rates of 4.25% on deposits with a term of 46 days to 60 days and 4.50% on fixed-term deposits with a term of 61 days to three months. Deposits that mature within the next three to six months will now earn a rate of 4.75%, and those maturing in the next six to nine months will now earn a rate of 5.75%. On fixed deposits (FDs) maturing in 9 months to 1 year, the bank will pay an interest rate of 6% and on those maturing in 1 year to 15 months, Axis Bank will now pay an interest rate of 6.70%. Axis Bank will now pay an interest rate of 7.10% on FDs maturing in 15 months to 5 years and a return of 7.00% on FDs maturing in 5 years to 10 years.

Senior citizens will get an additional interest rate benefit of 50 bps on tenors of 7 days to 5 years and 75 bps higher than the standard rates on tenure of 5 years to 10 years.
