Baba Ramdev-led Patanjali Ayurved says it makes no false claims about its products and is ready to face the consequences, including a hefty fine or even a death sentence, if found guilty.
In a bold statement, Baba Ramdev's Patanjali Ayurved has vehemently denied engaging in any false advertising or propaganda regarding its products. The company asserted that it would not object even if the Supreme Court imposed a hefty fine or, in extreme circumstances, a "death sentence" if its claims were proven misleading.
Supreme Court's Caution and Patanjali's Response

The Supreme Court's recent caution to Patanjali Ayurved against making false and misleading claims in advertisements for its medicines as a cure for various diseases has stirred controversy. In response, Patanjali Ayurved promptly addressed the media, stating that it possesses a comprehensive database of over one crore people, backed by real-world evidence, preclinical and clinical studies. The company humbly expressed its respect for the court and declared that it would accept any punishment, including substantial fines or even a "death sentence," if found guilty of false advertising or propaganda.
Baba Ramdev's Readiness to Present Evidence
Addressing a press conference in Haridwar, Baba Ramdev expressed his disappointment that the apex court did not grant him an opportunity to present his side of the story. He asserted that if given the chance, he would readily submit all the necessary facts, clinical evidence, and scientific research papers to support his claims before the court.
Adherence to Yoga and Ayurveda for Serious Diseases
Baba Ramdev reiterated his unwavering belief in the power of Yoga and Ayurveda to cure severe diseases. He firmly stands by his claims, stating that thousands of individuals have been successfully treated and freed from ailments such as BP, sugar, thyroid, asthma, arthritis, obesity, liver and kidney failure, and even cancer through these traditional practices.
Patanjali's Robust Research Center
In its statement, Patanjali Ayurved highlighted its world-class research center, the Patanjali Research Foundation, dedicated to exploring traditional treatments and ancient knowledge traditions. The company emphasized that hundreds of renowned scientists conduct extensive research at this facility, resulting in the publication of nearly 500 research papers in highly reputed international journals, based on over 3,000 research protocols.
Accusations Against Modern Medicine Practitioners
Baba Ramdev and Patanjali Ayurved alleged that certain "stubborn and frustrated" doctors within the medical sector oppose Yoga, Ayurveda, and Naturopathy. While acknowledging that synthetic medicines can control diseases, they argued that they cannot provide a cure. Patanjali further criticized the medical mafia and drug mafia for engaging in unethical practices such as installing fake pacemakers, stealing kidneys, and conducting unnecessary medical tests and procedures.
Baba Ramdev's Patanjali Ayurved has strongly refuted allegations of false advertising and propaganda. The company expressed its willingness to face the consequences, including hefty fines or even a "death sentence," if its claims are proven misleading. Patanjali Ayurved's staunch defense of its practices and its commitment to Yoga and Ayurveda have sparked widespread discussion and debate on the efficacy and credibility of traditional medicine in India.
