The ongoing construction of the Namma Metro line in Bangalore has become a major cause of traffic congestion for daily commuters. Almost every other day, some road or another is partially or fully closed due to metro construction work. If you're a regular commuter in Bengaluru, be prepared for more traffic delays. The Namma Metro construction across the city has caused multiple road closures in key areas like Hebbal, Marathahalli, Bellandur, and more. Due to this ongoing work, Bangalore traffic has become a major concern, and commuters are advised to check the latest traffic advisories before heading out.
The Bangalore traffic police have been issuing frequent traffic updates to help residents avoid congested routes. If you're planning to drive through Outer Ring Road (ORR), Sakra Hospital Road, Panathur, or Doddanekundi, you might face slow traffic or blocked roads due to metro, BBMP, and BWSSB work.

Locations Affected by Namma Metro Construction in Bangalore Today
According to updates shared by the HAL Airport Traffic Police and other local traffic divisions, here are the major routes currently affected and advisories issued:
Outer Ring Road - Salem Railway Bridge
Due to ongoing metro work, traffic from Mahadevpura towards Marathahalli and vice versa is moving slowly. Drivers are advised to plan their journey and expect delays.
Marathahalli Police Station Area
Heavy traffic has been reported from Kadubeesanahalli towards Karthik Nagar due to metro construction near the Marathahalli police station. Commuters are requested to cooperate with authorities.
Bellandur - Sakra Hospital Road
BWSSB and BBMP construction near Sakra Hospital has led to restricted movement from Bellandur Kodi towards Sakra Hospital. Expect significant traffic jams in this area.
Doddanekundi - Kodandarama Temple Road
Ongoing civil work at Doddanekundi village has slowed down traffic considerably. Drivers should avoid this route and take alternative roads.
Panathur Railway Bridge S Cross
Due to road widening work at the Panathur Railway Bridge, traffic is moving slowly. Commuters are urged to stay patient and plan ahead.
Nagawara Junction to Hennur Junction
The Namma Metro expansion work between Nagawara and Hennur has created slow-moving traffic. This is another hotspot to avoid during peak hours.
Mahaveer Jayanti Procession to Cause Delays on April 10
Commuters in East Bengaluru, especially around Vibgyor Road, Jain Temple, and Thubarahalli, should expect slow-moving traffic on Thursday, April 10, 2025, due to the Shree Mahaveer Jayanti procession.
The Whitefield traffic police have issued a traffic advisory stating, "Slow-moving traffic expected due to the Mahaveer Jayanti procession near Vibgyor Road, Jain Temple, and Thubarahalli Road. Date: Thursday, 10.04.2025, Call 112 for immediate assistance during any emergency."
Bangalore Traffic Tips for Commuters
Since traffic and Bangalore are now synonymous, it is very important to always check the latest Bangalore traffic advisory before starting your journey. One can also use Google Maps or BTP (Bangalore Traffic Police) updates on Twitter for live updates. Try to avoid high-traffic areas such as Hebbal, Bellandur, Marathahalli, and Outer Ring Road. And opt for an alternative route if possible to avoid delays. It is also very important to follow all the traffic rules issued by Bangalore traffic police.
