According to the latest Karnataka weather forecast, coastal Karnataka and several interior districts are likely to receive moderate to heavy rainfall today. IMD has also issued a Yellow Alert for Bengaluru and nearby regions as thunderstorm activity is quite active in the region.

Bengaluru weather today is expected to be cloudy with light to moderate rainfall in isolated areas. The city may be expense thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds during evening hours. According to IMD, The maximum temperature in Bengaluru is expected to stay between 29 degree Celsius and 31 degree Celsius, while the minimum temperature may remain around 21 degree Celsius to 22 degree Celsius.

As per the weather department, the ongoing rainfall in Karnataka is part of strong pre-monsoon activity developing across South India. Moisture-laden winds from the Arabian Sea are entering the state and interacting with rising daytime temperatures, leading to cloud formation and thunderstorms.

This weather pattern is quite common before the arrival of the Southwest Monsoon, but meteorologists say rainfall activity has become more intense over the past few days.

The Southwest Monsoon is expected to arrive over Kerala around May 26, and Karnataka may start seeing stronger monsoon circulation gradually after that.
