Banks will remain closed for 13 days in the month of August as there are going to be several holidays that may include Rakshbandhan, Janmashtami, August 15, etc. It is crucial to keep a close watch on the days when banks will remain closed so that you can plan your visit to the bank accordingly. Meanwhile, RBI has already uploaded bank holiday schedule on its website for the month of August. Banks all over India will remain closed on August 15, 2024.
In August, there will be six holidays due to Sundays and 2nd-4th Saturdays and banks will not remain open on these days. Meanwhile, banks will be closed for another 7-days as a result of several festivals in various states of India. As the bank holidays list for the month of August is already available on RBI website, you can view it online without any hassle. It will help you plan your visit to banks.
It is worth noting that RBI uploads the detailed list of bank holidays every month and specifies the reasons as well. The Central Bank also lists the reasons along with cities where the banks will stay closed on its website. When bank holidays take place, you may use the respective bank's ATM for cash withdrawal to avoid any hassle. You may use UPI and net banking in order to transfer money from one account to another when banks remain closed.
