Bank Holidays October 2022: Banks To Remain Closed For 21 Days, Check Complete List Here
The month of October is full of festivities as there are several festivals lined up for the month. People in India will celebrate Durga Puja, Diwali, Laxmi Puja, and Karva Chauth, among others. Therefore, there will many holidays in October and banks will also remain closed on these days.

It is worth noting that banks remain closed on second Saturdays and Sundays of every month. It is important to find out the days when bank will remain closed in various parts of the country so that you can plan your bank related works accordingly.
For the month of October, banks will remain closed for 21 days that will also include the 2nd and 4th Saturdays and all Sundays. Below is the list of holidays when banks will remain closed:
- October 1: The banks in the State Sikkim will remain closed for half yearly closing of bank accounts. The day is Saturday.
- October 2: The day is Sunday. It is Gandhi Jayanti and it is a national holiday in India.
- October 3: The day is Monday and it is a holiday for Durga Puja or Maha Ashtami. Banks will remain closed in states like Tripura, Orissa, Sikkim, Manipur, Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, and Kerala.
- October 4: The day is Tuesday. People in India celebrate Durga Puja or Dussehra also known as Maha Navami, Ayudha pooja, Janmotsav of Srimanta Sankardeva in different places. Banks will remain closed in states like Agartala, Karnataka, Orissa, Sikkim, Kerala, Maharashtra, Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Meghalaya.
- October 5: The day is Wednesday. People in India celebrate Durga Puja or Dussehra or Janmotsav of Srimanta Sankardeva. Banks will remain closed in all states barring Manipur.
- October 6: The day is Thursday. People in India celebrate Durga Puja or Dasain. Banks will remain closed in Gangtok and Sikkim.
- October 7: The day is Friday. People in India celebrate Durga Puja or Dasain. Banks will remain closed in Gangtok and Sikkim.
- October 8: The day is Saturday. People in India celebrate Milad-i-Sherif or Eid-i-Milad-ul-Nabi or birthday of Prophet Muhammed. Banks will remain closed in stated like Madhya Pradesh, Jammu, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh.
- October 13: The day is Thursday. People in several parts of India celebrate Karva Chauth. Banks will remain closed in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab, among others.
- October 14: The day is Friday. People in some parts of India celebrate Eid-i-Milad-ul-Nabi. Banks will remain closed in Jammu and Srinagar.
- October 24: The day is Monday. People in India celebrate Kali Puja or Deepavali or Laxmi Pujan or Naraka Chaturdashi. Banks will remain closed barring states like Sikkim, Telangana, and Manipur.
- October 25: The day is Tuesday. People in India celebrate Laxmi Puja or Deepawali or Govardhan Pooja. Banks will remain closed in states like Sikkim, Telangana, Manipur, and Rajasthan.
- October 26: The day is Wednesday. People in India celebrate Govardhan Pooja, Vikram Samvant New Year Day, Bhai Duj, Bhai Bij, Diwali, Laxmi Puja, Accession Day. Banks will remain closed in states like Gujarat, Maharastra, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Jammu, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Srinagar.
- October 27: The day is Thursday. People in India celebrate Bhaidooj, Chitragupt Jayanti, Laxmi Puja, Deepawali, Ningol Chakkouba. Banks will remain closed in states such as Sikkim, Manipur, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh.
- October 31: The day is Monday. People in India celebrate Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's Birthday, Surya Pashti Dala Chhath, Chhath Puja. Banks will remain closed in Gujarat, Bihar, and Jharkhand.
