If you are planning to complete any important banking-related work in the coming days, this update is crucial. Customers are advised to check bank holiday schedules in advance, as a series of holidays will keep bank branches closed for up to five consecutive days in several parts of the country.
Those who fail to finish their work by February 27 may have to wait longer for branch-based services.
Holi Bank Holidays For Next 5 Days?
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has already clarified that banks across different states will remain shut due to Holi celebrations combined with weekend holidays. Since bank holidays vary from state to state, customers should verify the schedule applicable to their city.

Banks to Remain Closed from February 28
The holiday sequence begins on February 28, which falls on the fourth Saturday of the month. As per RBI norms, banks across India remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays.
This will be followed by Sunday, March 1, when banks will remain closed nationwide due to the weekly holiday.
Holi Bank Holidays from March 2 to March 4, 2026: Check City-wise Details
Bank holidays related to Holi will be observed on March 2, March 3, and March 4, though closures will differ by region.
March 2 (Holika Dahan): Banks will remain closed only in Lucknow and Kanpur, while branches in other cities will function normally.
March 3: Banks will be shut in major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Patna, and Kolkata on account of Dhulandi and Dol Jatra celebrations.
March 4 (Holi): Banks will remain closed in most parts of the country, including cities like Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Ranchi, and Lucknow, as Holi is widely celebrated on this day.
Since bank holidays are not uniform across India, customers are strongly advised to check their city-wise holiday list before visiting a branch to avoid inconvenience.
Online Banking Services to Continue
Despite branch closures, customers will still be able to access digital banking services without interruption. Facilities such as mobile banking, net banking, and UPI services will continue to operate 24/7, allowing users to transfer funds, pay bills, and check account balances at any time.
Additionally, ATM services will remain operational, enabling cash withdrawals and basic banking transactions even during the holiday period.
