The Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood (SDEL), Government of Karnataka today announced that the first edition of the Bengaluru Skill Summit 2025 will be held in Bengaluru this year from November 4 to 6.
Briefing the media at the curtain raiser for the event held at Vidhan Soudha,Sharanprakash Patil, Minister for SDEL, talked about the vision and main aspects of the upcoming Bengaluru Skill Summit.

Details of the Bengaluru Skill Summit 2025
The Bengaluru Skill Summit will be Karnataka's major platform for workforce development. It is being organised by the Karnataka Skill Development Corporation (KSDC) along with the Karnataka Skill Development Authority (KSDA), with support from the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM).
The theme for the summit this year is "Workforce 2030: Scale, Systems, Synergy" and also includes green skills, innovations in skilling, partnerships, scalable solutions, and industry-academia collaboration.

Day 1 will feature keynotes, panel discussions, fireside chats, masterclasses, policy hackathons, and cultural performances.The summit will also feature policy dialogues & roundtables, networking platforms, Skillathon 2025, and the Kaushalya Karnataka Awards.
During the event national and international leaders are expected to attend along with senior government officials and top industry CEOs and CHROs. Other attendees include academic institutions and sector skill councils, training partners, multilateral agencies, NGOs, and social investors.
Speaking about the upcoming summit, Skill Development Minister Sharan Prakash Rudrappa Patil said, "Many companies are in need of skilled workers; a large number of graduates still remain unemployed as they are not industry-ready. I think hands-on workshops and apprenticeship-based training are very important to bridge this gap."
"The Karnataka government is also putting in a lot of effort, as under the Kaushalya Scheme, new skill development centres are being set up across Karnataka, as announced in the recent state budget.
"The initiative is open to all graduates, not limited to technical students, with equal emphasis on fields like human sciences and entrepreneurship. We are teaching not just job skills but also how to start a business so that more young people can think like entrepreneurs," Patil added.
Skillathon 2025
Skillathon 2025 is one of the main highlights of the Bengaluru Skill Summit, which is being organised in collaboration with the Melton Foundation India. Registrations for the competition open today, September 19th, and the submission deadline is set for October 10th. The final in-person round will be held on November 5th, where shortlisted teams will go through structured design thinking stages which include stages, Empathise, Define, Ideate, Consolidate, and Pitch. With a total prize pool of Rs. 50,000, winners will receive Rs. 25,000 for first place, Rs. 15,000 for second, and Rs. 10,000 for third. Winners of the Skillathon 2025 will be announced at the summit's closing ceremony on the final day, November 6th.

Kaushalya Karnataka Awards 2025
Another big highlight of the upcoming Bengaluru Skill Summit 2025 is the Kaushalya Karnataka Awards, which will honour contributions to skill development across the state.
According to the announcements made today, the Kaushalya Karnataka awards will be given in several categories, including the Best District for skill development, the Best Institution in skill competitions, and the Best Performing ITIs, GTTCIs, and KGTITIs. This recognition will also be given to self-help groups under the National Livelihood Mission, as well as exceptional trainers, principals, and trainees from skilling institutes. In addition, corporates and industries that have played a big role in promoting skill development will also be awarded for their efforts.
Major Objectives of the Bengaluru Skill Summit
The Bengaluru Skill Summit 2025 is all about Karnataka's progress in skill development while also creating a platform to showcase success stories and innovative practices. We can expect that the summit will focus on the need of the hour, which is upskilling to build a future-ready workforce. Another important focus will be on the implementation of the Karnataka State Skill Policy 2023-2032.
