Bengaluru News: The Bengaluru Traffic Police have issued a fresh traffic advisory for various key locations in Bangalore after a series of vehicle breakdowns, metro construction works, and heavy rainfall disrupted normal traffic flow. Commuters are advised to plan their travel accordingly to avoid long delays.
Metro Construction Triggers Heavy Congestion in Ramamurthy Nagar
The ongoing Namma Metro construction has significantly slowed down traffic in several parts of the city. According to the latest Bengaluru traffic advisory, commuters travelling from Ramamurthy Nagar towards Horamavu are facing severe congestion. The Bengaluru Traffic Police have urged commuters to use alternative service roads in this stretch to avoid long delays.
Similarly, Old Udaya Road near the Railway Underpass towards Jaymahal Road is experiencing traffic snarls due to BBMP-related construction work. This area has been marked as heavily congested, and motorists are advised to take detours wherever possible.
Vehicle Breakdowns Cause Snarls in Multiple Locations in Bangalore
The Bangalore traffic police, via its official Twitter handle, updated citizens on multiple vehicle breakdowns affecting road movement. Here are some of the key updates:
- From Tata Institute underpass towards Maramma Circle, expect slow-moving traffic.
- Yeshwanthpur Circle to Sadashivanagara is also experiencing traffic delays.
- The road from Basarahalli Signal, K R Puram, towards Hosakote is seeing slower vehicle movement.
- Bellandur flyover towards Marathahalli is another congested corridor.
- At Tin Factory flyover towards Kasturi Nagar, delays are being reported due to a broken-down vehicle.
These incidents have compounded peak-hour traffic woes in East and South Bengaluru, especially in tech corridors like Bellandur and Tin Factory, both of which are major junctions for daily office commuters.
Bengaluru Weather Update: Rain Brings Waterlogging and Road Damage
After several days of hot and dry conditions, Bengaluru weather changed post the much-needed rainfall yesterday. However, this relief from the heat also brought trouble on the roads. Waterlogging and pothole formation have created additional bottlenecks across Bangalore.
- The traffic police warned of slow-moving traffic due to waterlogging at the following locations:
- Sumanahalli Bridge towards Kamakshipalya
- Sandeep Unnikrishnan Road towards DB Road Dairy Circle
- Opera Junction towards Ashirvadam
These warnings were also shared on the Bengaluru Traffic Police's official X handle, urging drivers to proceed with caution, especially during early morning and late evening hours.
Key Areas to Avoid or Plan Alternatives
- Ramamurthy Nagar, Tin Factory, Bellandur, and Hennur
- Roads near Jaymahal Road, Opera Junction, and KR Puram
- Tech corridors including Marathahalli and Hosakote
