Bengaluru Waste Pickup Timings Changed! BBMP Announces New Morning Schedule From August 25; Check Now

While Bengaluru is preparing for the festive season, BBMP has announced a revision in waste pickup timings for auto tipper vehicles operating across Bengaluru.

"Revision of the mustering (attendance record) time for auto tipper vehicles for solid waste collection within the BBMP jurisdiction. The mustering time, which was earlier in force from 6.00 am to 7.30 am, has been fixed from 5.30 am to 6.30 am," said BBMP in a Twitter post.

New Morning Garbage Pickup Timings in Bengaluru

Starting August 25, 2025, the vehicle scanning and garbage pickup window for door-to-door waste collection has been shifted one hour earlier, from 6:00 am-7:30 am to 5:30 am-6:30 am.

According to the Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited (BSWML), the new schedule will allow residents to dispose of waste before heading to work, ensuring a cleaner environment and reducing garbage black spots.

Bengaluru is taking big steps to improve cleanliness and waste management. BBMP's adjustment of garbage collection timings is one way the city is tackling its waste issues.

Bengaluru Introduced Garbage Collection Tax from April 2025

Earlier this year, Bengaluru introduced a garbage collection tax on April 1, 2025, as part of its new solid waste management (SWM) policy to cover the costs of door-to-door waste collection services provided by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).

The garbage tax will be applicable monthly on households, commercial establishments, and all waste-generating units.
The fee varies based on property type and size. Non-payment of the garbage tax may lead to penalties or even disconnection of other municipal services. Revenue from the tax will help BBMP upgrade sanitation infrastructure, maintain cleaner public spaces.
