Bengaluru water cut today is going to impact lakhs of residents as the city prepares for a 24-hour Cauvery water supply disruption starting 6 AM on February 26, and continuing till 6 AM on February 27th. The scheduled water supply shutdown, announced by the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), will affect several neighbourhoods across east and south Bengaluru, including Whitefield, Banashankari, Begur and Gottigere.

The city already grappling with water stress and rising tanker dependence, the Bengaluru Cauvery water supply cut is likely to disrupt daily routines for households, apartments, tech parks and small businesses.
Why Is There A 24-Hour Water Cut In Bengaluru?
According to the BWSSB, the temporary water supply disruption is part of critical infrastructure work under the Cauvery Stage 5 project. The board is installing Electromagnetic Flow (EMF) meters near the Gottigere balancing reservoir to improve water monitoring and distribution efficiency.
Officials say these EMF meters will help track water flow more accurately, plug leakages, and ensure better supply management in the long run. While the short-term inconvenience is unavoidable, the upgrade is being carried out to strengthen Bengaluru's water security structure
