The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a cold wave alert as Karnataka experiences a drop in temperatures, bringing an early winter chill to Bengaluru and several parts of the state. The latest IMD reports say that minimum temperatures have fallen below normal in many districts, making Karnataka weather cooler.

Bengaluru Sees Early Winter Onset
According to the India Meteorological Department's (IMD) latest weather report issued at 8:30 AM on November 12, 2025, Karnataka is witnessing a steady drop in minimum temperatures, bringing a winter-like chill across both urban and rural belts of the state.
Bengaluru City today recorded a minimum temperature of 19.4°C, which is 1.2°C below the normal range.
Bengaluru HAL Airport registered a maximum temperature of 28.7°C, which is 1.7°C above normal, and a minimum of 18.9°C, slightly above the usual range for this time of year. Similarly, Bengaluru International Airport recorded a maximum of 29.3°C, indicating mild daytime warmth.
According to the data, many districts recorded below-normal night temperatures, particularly in the interior regions of the state.
Honnavar reported a minimum of 18.2°C, which is 4.4°C below normal, marking one of the sharpest drops in Karnataka. Similarly, Karwar and Belagavi saw minimum temperatures of 19.2°C and 14.2°C, respectively, both 2°C to 3°C below normal. Gadag also registered a dip of 1.5°C, while Bidar and Hassan showed readings that were slightly lower than usual for November nights.
These declining night temperatures are consistent with IMD's earlier cold wave alert for North Interior Karnataka, including districts such as Belagavi, Vijayapura, Bagalkote, and Kalaburagi, where the mercury is expected to remain 2°C to 3°C below normal over the coming days.
Five-Day Weather Forecast for Bengaluru (Urban & Rural)
As per the Bengaluru weather forecast issued by the Meteorological Centre, the city is expected to experience mainly clear skies for the next five days. Mist is very likely during early morning hours in some areas between November 11 and November 15, as per the official bulletin.
Residents can expect the Bengaluru weather in the mornings to be misty and cool, with mild visibility reduction in some areas. While the afternoons would be pleasant, with clear skies and moderate warmth. However, the gradual temperature drop may be seen during the nights.
The India Meteorological Department's (IMD) weather report issued at 8:30 AM on November 12, 2025, highlights a notable dip in minimum temperatures across several parts of Karnataka, signalling the onset of early winter conditions.
