Bengaluru weather is expected to stay super wet and cloudy for the next several days, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall and thunderstorm alert for Bengaluru and other districts in Karnataka till July 19. As per the latest Bengaluru weather update, residents will observe moderate to heavy rain, overcast skies, and isolated thunderstorms across the region.
According to the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC), scattered to widespread moderate rainfall is expected in coastal and Malnad districts of the state. KSNDMC posted on X. "#Rain #Forecast and #Warnings for the next 7 days: Scattered to widespread moderate rainfall is likely over the coastal and Malnad districts, with heavy to very heavy rainfall expected at isolated places. Light to moderate rainfall is likely over the interior districts."
Bengaluru Rainfall Weekly Forecast
The Bengaluru weekly weather forecast says that the city will experience daily rainfall till July 19, with the potential for thunderstorms during evening hours. According to the Bengaluru hourly weather data, rain showers are most likely in the late afternoons and evenings, which are expected to cause possible traffic in Bengaluru and major waterlogging, which is very common for the city.

The southwest monsoon, now strengthening over Karnataka, has accelerated the pace of rainfall in Bengaluru. As per IMD data, the temperature in Bengaluru is expected to remain between 21°C and 27°C, with high humidity levels. Wind speed may vary between 10 and 20 km/h, with occasional gusty winds during thunderstorms.

Rainfall Records Across Karnataka
While Bengaluru rainfall is moderate, several areas in Coastal Karnataka have recorded heavy downpours in the last 24 hours. According to IMD reports, heavy rainfall was observed in Kota (Udupi) with 10 cm rainfall, Bantwal (Dakshina Kannada), Kadra (Uttara Kannada), Puttur HMS (Dakshina Kannada), Udupi city, Mangaluru, Agumbe (Shivamogga), and Kammardi (Chikkamagaluru).
Bengaluru Temperature Updates, Humidity & AQI
Bengaluru temperature will possibly remain cooler than usual on some days due to overcast conditions, and humidity levels are expected to stay above 85%, making the atmosphere sticky. The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Bengaluru remains moderate, thanks to the consistent rainfall helping clear dust and pollutants.
Public Advisory for Bengaluru and Karnataka
Authorities have urged residents in Bengaluru and other parts of Karnataka to stay updated with weather updates from IMD.
It is also advised to avoid travel during peak rainfall hours to prevent inconvenience from traffic congestion and waterlogging.
Residents in flood-prone and low-lying areas are advised to take precautionary steps, while commuters should check the weather conditions before heading out.
