Benjamin Netanyahu Dead? Is Israel's Prime Minister Bibi Alive? Check Iran's Claim & Fake News

Internet has exploded over Israel's prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Claims have surfaced that Bibi Netanyahu has likely been assassinated. At the forefront of this claim is the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, who reportedly targeted Netanyahu's office in Tel Aviv along with security and military centers based in Haifa. The IRGC declared Netanyahu's fate as 'unclear.

Iran Claims: 'Bibi's fate is unclear'

According to Fars news agency, IRGC said, "The office of the criminal prime minister of the Zionist regime and the headquarters of the regime's air force commander were targeted." They used Kheibar missiles and declared Bibi's fate as unclear.

Meanwhile, an AFP journalist reported that several explosions were heard right above Jerusalem. The Israeli Defence Force, IDF, also announced that they detected fresh missiles in their direction from Iran.

IDF stated that they identified missiles launched from Iran toward the territory of the State of Israel. The military added that their defensive systems is working to intercept these threats.

Internet went wild as the claims circulated. Even Al Jazeera who has repeatedly reported against Israel, aired that Netanyahu was dead before deleting the story. Users who saw the Al Jazeera news shared on their social media platforms.

Meanwhile, speculations escalated as rumours spread that Netanyahu has not come online for quite sometime since the assassination of Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei.

IRGC reported directly to Khamenei who was assassinated in the early hours of March 1, 2026, by missiles attacked by US and Israel. The IDF were the first to claim the killing of Khamenei followed by US President Donald Trump. Later, Iran confirmed the death of their supreme leader along with some of his family members.

Since then Iran has vowed to avenge Khamenei's death and launched a series of intense attack in the Red Sea, US bases and assets in the neighbouring Arab countries like Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain and including Israel. They have threatened to close Strait of Hormuz if needed and to eliminate Israel.

The office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has debunked these claims, calling them as fake.

As per the Times of Israel report, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office dismisses as "fake news" an Iranian claim that the premier's fate is unclear after a missile attack targeting Jerusalem.

"This means a credible transition for Iran which includes the halt to both the nuclear and ballistic programmes, as well as an end to destabilising action in the region," Leyen added.

Lastly, she said, because from energy to nuclear, migration to security, Europe must be prepared for the fall-out from recent events.
