Birth certificates will become more significant in document verification as of October 1. According to the new law, a birth certificate may be presented as a single document for numerous purposes, including school entrance, obtaining a driver's license, obtaining voter identification, registering a marriage, applying for government jobs, and obtaining an Aadhaar number.
The Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Bill 2023 was passed in both houses of Parliament during the monsoon session. It had also received consent from the President.

On October 1, 2023, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs will implement a significant change in how birth certificates are used for critical services. The Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Act, 2023, which is the driving force behind these changes, aims to improve the effectiveness and transparency of public service delivery.
A national and state-level data bank of recorded births and deaths will also be aided by the new law. This will allow for better delivery of public services. For birth certificates issued on or after October 1st, the new regulation will be in effect.
The availability of digital birth and death certificates will be the major shift following the law's implementation. There is just a hard copy of it accessible right now. For this, one must also spend numerous days visiting offices.
Aadhaar is currently the only identity card accepted everywhere. You must connect it to your other files and accounts. Similarly to that, this will be a birth-death certificate that serves as a globally recognized identity card for verification of birth and death.
