Legendary Bollywood icon Dharmendra, affectionately remembered as the "He-Man" of Indian cinema, has passed away at the age of 89. , sources close to IANS confirmed. The news comes less than a month after the legendary actor was discharged from Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital. On November 12, Dharmendra had returned home in a stable condition after receiving treatment, with doctors reporting that he was recovering well.

At the time of his discharge, Dr. Rajiv Sharma from Breach Candy Hospital told IANS, "Dharmendra ji has gone from the hospital with full satisfaction. His family has taken him home. Everything has been arranged for him. He is in a stable condition. I request the public not to spread false news but instead pray for his recovery so that he can celebrate his next birthday with pride."
Earlier in November, on the 10th, sources had reported that Dharmendra was critical and on life support, and he had been under strict medical observation since October 31. The superstar, who would have turned 90 on December 8, had been receiving care from top medical professionals in Mumbai.

Veteran actor Dharmendra's final film, "Ikkis," directed by Sriram Raghavan, is set to release worldwide on December 25, 2025. In the movie, he plays a pivotal role as the father of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India's youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient, marking the last on-screen appearance of the legendary Bollywood icon.
The film, a war drama based on the life of Arun Khetarpal, India's youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient, stars Agastya Nanda, Simar Bhatia, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Sikandar Kher and is slated for release in December.
On the professional front, Dharmendra was last seen in the 2024 film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, which starred Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest, most handsome, and commercially successful stars in Indian cinema, Dharmendra's career spanned over six decades, during which he appeared in more than 300 films. He holds the record for starring in the highest number of hit films in Hindi cinema and was honored with the Padma Bhushan in 2012 for his contribution to Indian cinema.
