On account of Mahavir Jayanti, BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange), NSE (National Stock Exchange of India) and MCX Multi Commodity Exchange of India) will remain closed on 6 April.

Hence, trading activity in the Indian stock markets, wholesale commodity markets, including metal, bullion, forex and commodity futures markets will not take place on Monday.

In the previous trading day, 3 April, stock market benchmark indexes closed lower. BSE's Sensex ended 674.36 points or 2.39 percent down at 27,590.95, while NSE's Nifty 50 fell 170 points or 2.06 percent at 8,083.80.

Meanwhile, stocks in Asia Pacific were trading higher in the morning session after a scheduled meeting between the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies was delayed.

In Japan, the Nikkei 225 rose 1.72 percent, in South Korea Kospi advanced 1.74 percent, Kosdaq index rose 2.24 percent and in Hong Kong Hang Seng index was up 0.27 percent.

In Australia S&P/ASX 200 gained 2.37 percent while in China markets were closed for a public holiday.
