Capital Group Divests 4.3% Stake in SIS for Rs 258 Cr; ADIA Steps In

Capital Group, a financial services company, sold a 4.3% stake in SIS for over Rs 258 crore through open market transactions on Wednesday. Abu Dhabi Investment Authority also acquired shares in the company. Capital Group's affiliates, Smallcap World Fund and American Funds Insurance Series Global Small Capitalization Fund, sold 62,26,115 shares of SIS.

The shares were sold at Rs 415 each, making the total transaction value Rs 258.39 crore, according to BSE bulk deal data. At the end of June, Smallcap World Fund held a 3.68% stake in SIS, based on BSE shareholding data.

Abu Dhabi Investment Authority's Stake

Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority Stable and 360 One Mutual Fund bought 51.79 lakh shares or a 3.6% stake in SIS. These shares were also acquired at Rs 415 each, bringing the combined transaction value to Rs 214.95 crore.

Details about other buyers of SIS shares were not available. Shares of SIS closed 3.41% lower at Rs 415.20 per piece on the BSE.

Quant Mutual Fund's Transaction

In another transaction, Quant Mutual Fund reduced its stake in Graphite India by 1.5%, selling shares worth Rs 151 crore through open market transactions. According to bulk deal data from the BSE and NSE, Quant Mutual Fund sold 29,06,250 shares of Graphite India.

The shares were sold within the price range of Rs 520-520.03 each, making the total deal size Rs 151.12 crore. Following this sale, Quant MF's shareholding in Graphite India decreased from 3.21% to 1.71%.

Details about the buyers of Graphite India shares were not disclosed. On Wednesday, Graphite India's shares rose by 2.18%, closing at Rs 532.25 per piece on the BSE and increased by 2.14%, settling at Rs 532 apiece on the NSE.

This series of transactions highlights significant movements in stakes within both SIS and Graphite India by major investors and mutual funds.
