CBSE Board Exams 2026 Update: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed Class 10 and Class 12 board exams scheduled for March 2nd, at affiliated schools across Gulf and Middle East countries due to escalating security concerns linked to the ongoing Iran-Israel-US conflict.

Thousands of Indian expatriate students studying in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE will be impacted because of this decision. The region is currently experiencing heightened military alerts, airspace closures, and temporary shutdowns at several Gulf airports.
Several Indian families in the Middle East have reportedly faced travel disruptions, raising concerns over safe commuting for students appearing in board exams. Indian embassies and the Indian Consulate in Dubai are coordinating closely with schools and local authorities to ensure student safety.
CBSE Class 10, 12 Exams March 2 Deferred
According to the official communication, all CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 board exams scheduled for March 2, 2026 in Gulf/Middle East examination centres stand deferred.
CBSE Controller of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj said the decision was taken keeping in mind the safety of students and school staff given the "current situation" in the region.
The Board clarified that new exam dates will be announced soon through official channels. Schools have advised parents and students to regularly check updates via CBSE Official website & social media handles.
CBSE further indicated that examinations scheduled from March 5 onwards are under review, with a meeting planned on March 3 to assess the evolving situation in the Middle East.
With airspace closures and security advisories in place, authorities are closely monitoring developments before taking a final call on upcoming CBSE board exams in Gulf countries.
CBSE Warns Against Fake Circulars
Amid confusion, CBSE has clarified that any fake exam cancellation circulars circulating online should be ignored.
Students and parents are strongly advised to rely only on cbse.gov.in & Official CBSE press releases.
Advisory for CBSE Students Ahead
- Regularly monitor official CBSE updates
- Stay in contact with school authorities
- Avoid relying on unofficial social media forwards
- Follow safety advisories issued by local authorities
- Some schools have also suggested temporary remote learning arrangements until clarity emerges on revised exam dates.
