In a significant move towards environmental responsibility, Cyient, a global engineering and technology solutions company, has announced a strategic partnership with Thales to collectively address climate change across their business value chains. The Letter of Intent (LoI) was signed during a ceremony commemorating the 70th anniversary of Thales in India.
The partnership signifies a shared commitment by Cyient and Thales to lead the way towards a low-carbon future. In a stock exchange filing, Cyient revealed that both companies are dedicated to working together to combat climate change, aligning with global efforts to reduce carbon emissions.

Thales, a global leader in advanced technologies spanning defence, security, aeronautics, space, and digital identity, has set ambitious targets for carbon dioxide emission reduction by 2030. These objectives are in harmony with the principles outlined in the Paris Agreement. Thales aims to achieve net-zero operations-related CO2 emissions by 2040.
Krishna Bodanapu, Executive Vice Chairman and MD of Cyient, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, "Cyient has partnered with Thales in a shared commitment to lead the way towards a low-carbon future. Together, we are working to build a world where innovation and environmental responsibility come together to build a brighter and more sustainable future."
As part of the partnership, Thales is actively engaging with its strategic suppliers to meet its carbon reduction targets. This collaboration aligns with Cyient's ongoing investment in its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) roadmap. The companies plan to implement dedicated initiatives across all facilities, including major manufacturing centres in Hyderabad, Mysore, and Bengaluru.
Thales' emphasis on achieving its carbon reduction goals by 2030 underscores the urgency and importance of addressing climate change within the corporate sector. By partnering with Cyient, a company with a global footprint in engineering and technology solutions, Thales aims to leverage collective expertise and resources to make substantial progress in environmental sustainability.
As of the latest update, Cyient's shares witnessed a nearly 2% increase, reaching ₹1,710.75 apiece around 12:10 pm. This positive market response reflects investor confidence in the company's commitment to environmental responsibility and its collaborative efforts with Thales to build a more sustainable future. The partnership between Cyient and Thales exemplifies the growing trend of businesses actively participating in global initiatives to combat climate change and promote environmental stewardship.
