Cold wave conditions have intensified across Karnataka as the temperatures dipped sharply in several districts, especially in the northern interior region. As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), rain is likely in Bengaluru for the next two days, while dense fog is expected to reduce visibility during early morning hours.

Because of the sharp fall in minimum temperatures in many districts, it is one of the coldest spells of the season so far.
Karnataka Weather District Wise
On Saturday, weather in Karnataka intensified in the northern interior districts, where the minimum temperature dropped to 7.4 degrees Celsius in Bidar and Vijayapura, making them the coldest places in the state. Meanwhile, Raichur and Dharwad recorded minimum temperatures of 9 degrees Celsius, while Gadag and Haveri saw temperatures fall to 10 degrees Celsius.
The winter chill was not limited to North Karnataka alone. In the southern interior districts, Hassan recorded a minimum temperature of 8.5 degrees Celsius, while Davangere saw 10 degrees Celsius. Temperatures in Shivamogga and Chikkaballapur hovered around 11 degrees Celsius. Residents across these regions reported biting cold conditions, especially during early morning and late-night hours.
IMD Issued Cold Wave Warning for Multiple Districts
The IMD weather forecast for Karnataka has warned that cold wave conditions are likely to prevail in all northern interior districts. Additionally, southern interior districts such as Ballari, Vijayanagar, Chitradurga, Davangere, and Shivamogga are also likely to experience cold wave conditions on Saturday. However, the department clarified that no major change in minimum temperatures is expected along the coastal belt.
Bengaluru Weather
According to the Bengaluru weather forecast, dense fog is likely to blanket the city for the next two days, particularly during early morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures in Bengaluru are expected to hover around 27 degrees Celsius and 15 degrees Celsius, respectively. The dense fog is expected to significantly impact visibility, especially on arterial roads and highways.
The weather in the Bengaluru rural district is also experiencing extreme cold conditions, with minimum temperatures steadily falling over the past month. Residents are experiencing intense cold, with foggy conditions prevailing between 4 am and 9.30 am, making outdoor movement difficult. Dense fog has also caused trouble for motorists on state and national highways, leading to slower traffic movement and safety concerns.
