Winter has fully arrived across northern and interior Karnataka including Bengaluru as the Karnataka weather today has turned colder after the state recorded a sharp dip in night temperatures as several districts recorded single-digit minimum temperatures during the 24-hour period between 8.30 am on December 13, and 7.30 am on December 14th. According to the latest district-wise minimum temperature data, Bidar became the coldest district in the state, reporting a minimum temperature of 7°C.

District-Wise Minimum Temperature in Karnataka
The cold wave was most intense across north interior Karnataka, with districts such as Chikkaballapura (7.1°C), Dharwad (7.4°C), Tumakuru (7.4°C) and Chikkamagaluru (7.6°C) recording unusually low night temperatures for mid-December. Other districts including Belagavi (7.8°C), Hassan (8.3°C), Kodagu (8.5°C) and Bagalkote (8.6°C) also reported chilly mornings across both plateau and hilly regions.
Mysuru, Mandya and Bengaluru See Cool December Nights
Southern Karnataka also experienced noticeable winter chill, with Mysuru and Vijayanagara recording 8.8°C, while Mandya reported 9.7°C. Kolar and Koppala saw minimum temperatures hovering at 9.9°C, while districts such as Chamarajanagara and Shivamogga touched 10°C.
Bengaluru Weather Today
Bengaluru weather today is currently cool and sunny in the mornings across the city and its outskirts. Bengaluru South recorded 10.1°C, Bengaluru Rural saw 10.4°C, while Bengaluru Urban logged a minimum of 10.8°C.
Coastal Karnataka Remains Relatively Warmer
As expected, coastal Karnataka districts remained warmer compared to the interior regions. Udupi recorded a minimum temperature of 14.4°C, while Dakshina Kannada was the warmest in the state at 15.5°C. The influence of the Arabian Sea is keeping the moderate temperatures along the coast, preventing extreme nighttime cooling.
Karnataka Weather Forecast: Next 3-4 Days Outlook
Looking ahead, the Karnataka weather forecast indicates largely dry conditions across most districts for the next three to four days. Daytime temperatures are expected to remain comfortable, while nights and early mornings may continue to feel cold, especially in interior districts.
One day during the mid-week period may see some cloud build-up and the possibility of a stray light shower, but widespread rainfall or strong weather disturbances are unlikely at this stage.
