Technical glitches at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport have caused over 100 flight delays. Authorities are working to resolve air traffic control system issues and minimise disruptions for passengers.
On Friday morning, over 100 flights faced delays at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport due to technical glitches in the air traffic control system. Authorities are actively addressing these issues. As India's busiest airport, IGIA manages more than 1,500 flight movements daily. Passengers were advised to contact their airlines for updates on their flights.

The airport released a statement saying, "Due to a technical issue with the Air Traffic Control (ATC) system, flight operations at the IGIA are experiencing delays. Team is actively working to resolve it at the earliest." This advisory was issued to keep passengers informed about the ongoing situation.
Technical Glitches Affecting Operations
According to sources cited by news agency PTI, air traffic controllers have been unable to receive flight plans automatically since Thursday evening due to technical problems. The Automatic Message Switching System (AMSS), which provides data for the Auto Track System (AMS) responsible for flight plans, is experiencing issues.
As a result of these technical difficulties, air traffic controllers are manually preparing flight plans using available data. This manual process is time-consuming and has led to significant delays in flight schedules. The ongoing issues have also contributed to air traffic congestion at the airport.
Efforts Underway to Resolve Issues
Authorities are working diligently to rectify these problems and restore normal operations as quickly as possible. The delays have caused inconvenience for many passengers, and efforts are being made to minimise disruptions.
Flight tracking website Flightradar24.com indicated that departures from Delhi airport were delayed by approximately 50 minutes. This information highlights the extent of the impact on flight schedules due to the technical issues.
The situation remains dynamic as teams continue their efforts to resolve the technical challenges affecting air traffic control systems at Delhi airport. Passengers are encouraged to stay updated through their respective airlines for any changes in their travel plans.
