An Air India Express flight from Trichy to Sharjah experienced a hydraulic failure shortly after take-off, prompting the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to investigate the issue. The aircraft, carrying 141 passengers, circled Trichy for about two-and-a-half hours before safely landing back at Trichy airport.

Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu stated that emergency protocols were activated promptly when a full emergency was declared at 1805 hours. The flight successfully landed at 2015 hours. Naidu confirmed that the DGCA will thoroughly examine the aircraft to identify the cause of the hydraulic problem.
Emergency Response and Passenger Safety
Minister Naidu praised the swift and effective response of airport and emergency teams. He assured that Air India Express is providing necessary assistance to passengers, including alternative travel arrangements. "The crew followed all safety protocols, ensuring the well-being of every passenger during the emergency," he noted.
The incident involved Air India Express flight AXB 613, which was en route from Trichy to Sharjah with 141 people on board. The minister expressed relief over the safe landing of the aircraft at Trichy airport. The DGCA's investigation aims to prevent future occurrences by understanding the exact cause of the hydraulic failure.
