With the grim total caseload of 13 lakh in India, civil aviation ministry in the country on Friday said that it will continue with air flight related restrictions in the domestic market until November 24 or until further notice. So, consequently until that time cap of airfares will remain applicable.

Amid the lockdown, domestic flights resumed operation in the last week of May with a cap on airfare for both the lower and upper limit. While on the higher side, cap is enforced in the interest of travelers, the lower side cap will ensure that aviation industry remains viable.
Also, there has been a classification made with respect to time taken to travel between 2 cities
1. Under section 1, flights between cities that take time under 40 minutes are covered
2. Under section 2, flights between cities that take time between 40-60 min are included
3. Under section three destination taking 60-90 minutes
4. section four includes flight between cities that have a travel time of 90-120 minutes
5. section five consists of cities 120-150 minutes apart.
6. Destinations between 150-180 minutes and 180-210 minutes have been classified under sections 6 and 7, respectively.
The base minimum airfare of domestic flights ranges from Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 6,500 and the maximum range from Rs.6,000 to Rs.18,600. Airlines have to offer 40% of total seats in an aircraft at less than the mid-point price between the highest and lowest fares, aviation secretary Pradeep Singh Kharola earlier said.
So, as per earlier comments on the busiest route of Delhi and Mumbai, minimum air fare shall be Rs. 3500 while maximum can be Rs. 10000.
Also, now the government has allowed airlines to operate at 45% capacity.
International flights to some of the countries including the US, Germany and France have been recently allowed via 'air bubbles.
