Tesla has inaugurated its second showroom in India, situated at Worldmark 3, Aerocity, Delhi. This follows the opening of its first showroom in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex on July 15, 2025. The new facility spans 8,200 square feet and is strategically located to cater to high-net-worth individuals and corporate clients in the National Capital Region.
The Aerocity showroom features four V4 Superchargers in its basement parking area. These chargers deliver 250 kW DC charging at a rate of ₹24 per kWh. For Tesla's Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD), this means an additional range of approximately 238 km in just 15 minutes. The Long Range RWD variant can gain about 267 km in the same time frame.

Expansion of Charging Network
This new location marks Tesla's second operational Supercharger site in India, with the first being at Mumbai's One BKC building. Initially, these chargers will be exclusive to Tesla owners, but there are plans to open them for public use later. Over the next year, Tesla aims to establish eight more such sites across cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad, and Jaipur.
In India, Tesla offers two versions of the Model Y. The RWD variant comes with a 60 kWh battery offering a range of 500 km (WLTP) and is priced at ₹59.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The Long Range RWD version boasts a larger battery with a range of 622 km and costs ₹67.89 lakh. Both models can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in under six seconds and have a top speed of 201 kmph.
Unique Sales Approach
Tesla's direct-to-consumer sales model sets it apart from competitors like Mercedes-Benz and BMW. Customers can book the Model Y online with deliveries expected soon. Priority will be given to buyers in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, and Gurugram with cars delivered directly to their homes on flat-bed trucks.
The Delhi Experience Centre allows visitors to explore the Model Y firsthand. They can book test drives and witness demonstrations of Autopilot and infotainment systems. Additionally, there's a section dedicated to accessories and merchandise for enthusiasts.
Future Plans
Tesla is anticipated to introduce the Model 3 next in India. While considering launching the Model S and Model X as well, these may face challenges due to size constraints and regulatory requirements.
Entering the Indian market was facilitated by reduced import tariffs on electric vehicles priced above $40,000 from 100% to 70%. Despite its unique sales strategy and proprietary charging network, Tesla faces challenges in expanding service support across India.
