Customers of 8 banks that have merged with large lenders must be mindful that their account numbers will change from next month. Vijaya Bank, Corporation Bank, Andhra Bank, Syndicate Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, United Bank of India, Allahabad Bank, and Dena Bank are the eight banks involved. These eight banks' account holders can request a new cheque book and passbook, as the existing one that they have will become void from April 1, 2021. Customers of Punjab National (PNB) have been notified that their current United Bank of India and Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) cheque books will become void from April 1, 2021, and that they must get new ones released.

These banks' account holders should also look up to the new IFSC and MICR code. These eight banks' account holders must also change their account details, such as their phone number, address, nominee's name, and so on. The customer will receive a new cheque book and passbook from the bank that merged their old banks. Account holders can change their banking details on the various financial products after receiving the latest cheque book and passbook. Dena Bank and Vijaya Bank merged with Bank of Baroda on April 1, 2019. On April 1, 2020, the merger of the Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) and United Bank of India with PNB was reached to the conclusion.
