Fuel Price: Petrol, Diesel Prices Hiked After Two-Day Hiatus

Fuel prices were raised again on Friday after holding stable for two days, and now cost more than Rs 100 in eight state capitals. This was the 33rd increase in petrol prices since 4 May, when state-owned oil companies resumed rate revisions after an 18-day hiatus caused by assembly elections in states such as West Bengal.

In May, Bhopal became the first state capital to surpass the Rs 100 mark in petrol costs. Jaipur, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru were the next cities on the list. Last week, petrol prices in Patna and Thiruvananthapuram were above Rs 100.

Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Ladakh, Bihar, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu are among the 12 states and union territories where petrol costs more than Rs 100.
