After five days of climbing costs, petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged on Tuesday for the second consecutive day, although rates across the country remain at record highs. Petrol costs 107.59 rupees per litre in Delhi, while diesel costs 96.32 rupees per litre.
The most recent hike, on October 24, pushed the price of fuel in Delhi to an all-time high of Rs 107.59 a litre. On October 26, the pricing remained unchanged. On the day, the price of diesel remained steady at Rs 96.32 per litre.

Fuel prices in Mumbai followed a similar pattern. The price of petrol remained steady at Rs 113.46 per litre. On May 29, Mumbai became the country's first metro where petrol was sold at more than Rs 100 per litre. The price of diesel remained unchanged at Rs 104.38 a litre.
In Kolkata, the rates of petrol and diesel remained steady at Rs 108.11 per litre and Rs 99.43 per litre, respectively.
The cost of petrol and diesel varies from state to state, depending on the impact of municipal taxes.
Since September 28, when a three-week respite in rate revision ended, the price of gasoline has been raised 21 times. Overall, the cost of a litre of petrol has increased by Rs 6.4. Since September 24, diesel prices have risen by Rs 7.70 per litre in 24 rises.
While petrol prices have already surpassed Rs 100 per litre in all major cities across the country, diesel prices have surpassed Rs 100 per litre in over a half-dozen states and union territories, ranging from Jammu and Kashmir to Tamil Nadu.
