Petrol and diesel prices rose by 40 paise per litre on Monday, April 4th, continuing their increasing pattern. Petrol is presently retailing for Rs 103.81 per litre in New Delhi, up from Rs 103.41 yesterday, and diesel is selling for Rs 95.07 per litre, up from Rs 94.67 yesterday. Petrol costs Rs 113.45 in Kolkata, up from Rs 113.03 yesterday, a 42-paise increase, while diesel costs Rs 98.22, up from Rs 97.82 yesterday, a 40-paise increase. In Mumbai, petrol prices have increased by 42 paise to Rs 118.83 per litre, up from Rs 118.41 yesterday, while diesel prices have increased by 43 paise to Rs 103.07 per litre, up from Rs 102.64 yesterday.

Petrol will be sold at Rs 109.34 a litre in Chennai today, up from Rs 108.96 yesterday, while diesel will be sold at Rs 99.42, up from Rs 99.04 yesterday. In Bangalore, a litre of petrol will cost Rs 109.41 today, up from Rs 108.99 yesterday, while a litre of diesel will cost Rs 93.23, up from Rs 92.83 yesterday. In Hyderabad, a litre of petrol will cost Rs 117.68 today, up from Rs 117.23 yesterday, while a litre of diesel will cost Rs 103.75 today, up from Rs 103.32 yesterday.
Petrol will be sold at Rs 104.06 a litre in Gurgaon today, up from Rs 103.86 yesterday, and diesel will be sold at Rs 95.30, up from Rs 95.10 yesterday. Petrol will be sold at Rs 104 per litre in Noida today, up from Rs 103.47 yesterday, while diesel will be sold at Rs 95.55, up from Rs 95.02 yesterday. Today, a litre of petrol will cost Rs 115.45 in Patna, up from Rs 114.46 yesterday, while a litre of diesel will cost Rs 100.29, up from Rs 99.35 yesterday.
Petrol will cost Rs 110.78 a litre in Bhubaneswar today, up from Rs 110.76 yesterday, while diesel will cost Rs 100.53 today, up from Rs 100.51 yesterday. Petrol will cost Rs 103.17 per litre in Chandigarh today, up from Rs 102.78 yesterday, while diesel will cost Rs 89.34 per litre, up from Rs 88.97 yesterday. Petrol will cost Rs 116.27 a litre in Jaipur today, up from Rs 116.82 yesterday, while diesel will cost Rs 99.29, up from Rs 99.77 yesterday. Petrol will be sold at Rs 103.52 per litre in Lucknow today, down from Rs 103.01 yesterday, while diesel will be sold for Rs 95.09 per litre, down from Rs 94.59 yesterday.
Based on crude oil prices in international markets, with WTI Crude last seen trading at $99.16 per barrel and Brent Crude last seen trading at $104.30 per barrel, state-owned fuel retailers Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) may hike fuel prices further in the coming days. "MCX crude prices are expected to correct further towards Rs 7,450 levels for the day amid higher supply from US Strategic Petroleum Reserve and expectations of crude oil supply resume from Russian CPC pipeline," according to ICICI Securities.
