Go First, a cash-strapped airline, plans to enhance the salary of its engaged aircraft captains by Rs 1 lakh per month and Rs 50,000 for first officers in an effort to keep employees from leaving the airline after it declared bankruptcy.
The increased compensation or retention allowance will go into effect on June 1, according to an email addressed to pilots, according to Bloomberg News.

The retention payment, according to the journal, will be offered to employees who have left the company but are willing to revoke their resignations by June 15. Furthermore, the airline plans to adopt a longevity bonus for long-term staff.
According to a Bloomberg study based on AmbitionBox data, Go First flight pilots currently earn around Rs 5.30 lakh per month. This is much lower than SpiceJet, which recently boosted pilot compensation to Rs 7.5 lakh per month.
Following the beginning of bankruptcy proceedings, several pilots and other airline employees attempted to leave the company. Go First has ceased operations until May 30 due to several financial issues, and it is not yet known whether it will restart operations in the future.
To resume operations, Go First must submit a revival plan to the Directorate of Civil Aviation, the aviation regulator, within one month. This strategy must include detailed information about the airline's current pilot count. In an email sent to the pilots,
Go First provided reassurance that the airline anticipates a swift return to the skies if the plan progresses as intended. The airline expressed optimism that the resumption of operations will also facilitate regular salary payments to its employees.
