Gold Price Falls In India For 5th Day, July 23: Check Latest Gold Prices, Silver Declines Too

Gold prices in India today declined yet again for 5th day in a row ahead of union budget 2024. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Budget for the financial year 2024-25 in the Lok Sabha today. Meanwhile, US Dollar firmed as Investors are looking forward to more US economic data and key comments from Federal Reserve officials this week for more clarity on the exact timeline for interest rate cuts.

22k gold prices today declined marginally by Rs 10 to settle at Rs 67,690/10 grams and 100 grams of 22 carat yellow metal prices today fell by Rs 100 to Rs 6,76,900. 24k gold prices today slipped by Rs 10 to Rs 73,840/10 grams and 100 grams of 24 carat precious metal prices today dived by Rs 100 to Rs 7,38,400.

18k gold prices today fell by Rs 10 to Rs 55,380/10 grams and 100 grams of 18 carat yellow metal prices today slipped by Rs 100 to Rs 5,53,800.

Spot Gold, Spot Silver Prices Today: Spot gold held its ground at $2,398.29 per ounce, as of 0035 GMT, after declining to a more than one-week low in the earlier session. US gold futures edged 0.1% higher to $2,397.70. Spot silver declined 0.5% to $29.06 per ounce, platinum firmed 0.1% at $948.13 and palladium slipped 0.1% to $907.25.

According to Reuters, "We're seeing a quiet market today for gold" as "they're waiting to see what exactly the change in the democratic party's candidacy means for the election and for the country and the world overall," said Jeffrey Christian, managing partner of CPM Group.

"It's far too early for any strategic positions... longer-term is probably more favourable for gold if Trump is in the White House," said StoneX analyst Rhona O'Connell in a note.
