Gold Prices Slide In India, Sept 28: Yellow Metal Prices Slip, Silver Dips Too

Gold prices today witnessed decline thus giving marginal relief to gold buyers as prices continued to maintain upward trend in India for last few days after US Fed slashed interest rates. 24k gold prices today in India declined by Rs 50 to Rs 77,400/10 grams and 100 grams of 24 carat precious metal prices today slipped by Rs 500 to Rs 7,74,000. 22k gold prices today dived by Rs 50 as well to settle at Rs 70,950/10 grams and 100 grams of 22 carat precious metal prices today fell by Rs 500 to Rs 7,09,500.

18k gold prices today recorded dip by Rs 40 to Rs 58,050/10 grams and 100 grams of 18 carat precious metal prices today dipped by Rs 400 to Rs 5,80,500.

Spot Gold, Spot Silver Prices Today: Spot gold declined 1% at $2,643.88 per ounce by 1742 GMT after hitting all-time highs for four days in a row. US gold futures fell 0.9% at $2,668.1. Spot silver declined 1.8% to $31.46 per ounce after touching its highest since December 2012 at $32.71 on Thursday, according to Reuters.
In India, gold prices hit all time high on September 27, 2024 when prices rallied to Rs 7100 per gram. 22k gold prices for 1 gram stood at Rs 5855 on January 1, 2024 and reached all time high to Rs 7100 yesterday, implying a surge of 21.26% since January 1, 2024.

Silver Prices Today In India: Silver price in India today recorded decline. However, silver prices have already crossed 1 lakh mark in Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kerala. 1kg silver prices today declined by Rs 1000 to Rs 95,000. 100 grams silver prices today declined in India by Rs 100 to Rs 9,500.

According to "China stimulus is giving industrial metals a boost, something silver traders had been waiting for," Ole Hansen, head of commodity strategy at Saxo Bank, said.

"Continued gold strength combined with stable to higher industrial metal prices should see silver continue to outperform gold, with the gold/silver ratio falling back towards the 70 to 75 area, potentially driving a 10% outperformance in silver," Hansen added.
