Google has appointed Mitul Shah, previously the head of consumer sales at Apple India, to lead its Pixel smartphone and services division in the country. Shah will serve as the Managing Director for Google Devices and Services in India. This announcement was made through a social media post.

Shah expressed his enthusiasm about his new role on LinkedIn, stating, "I am happy to share that I've started an exciting new journey with Google as Managing Director for Devices & Services Business - leading Pixels sales and expansion efforts in India." His responsibilities will include overseeing the sales and growth of Pixel smartphones in India.
Google's Manufacturing Partnerships
To boost local production, Google has collaborated with Foxconn and Dixon for manufacturing Pixel smartphones in India. This move aligns with the company's strategy to enhance its presence in the Indian market by leveraging local manufacturing capabilities.
Shah shared his excitement about joining a company known for its innovative approach. He stated, "It's an honour to be part of a company that's at the forefront of innovation, and I'm particularly thrilled to be working on a product that has the potential to put the magic and power of AI in the pockets of millions of people across my beloved country."
Continuing a Mission
Addressing questions about his transition from Apple, Shah clarified that this is not merely a switch but a continuation of his mission. He emphasised his commitment to bringing advanced technology to Indian consumers. "This is not a switch. This is a continuation of the mission of putting the world's best technology in the hands of fellow countrymen and women," he explained.
Shah feels privileged to have this opportunity with Google. He highlighted his aim to deliver meaningful experiences through AI with a dedicated team. "I couldn't be more fortunate to have an opportunity to deliver the transformative power of AI and meaningful experiences to Indian consumers, with an immensely committed and talented team," Shah added.
