Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel met with Singapores trade and industry minister Gan Kim Yong to discuss trade and investments between the two nations.
During his four-day visit to Japan, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel met with Singapore's Minister for Trade and Industry, Gan Kim Yong, in Singapore. The meeting focused on discussing trade and investment opportunities between the two nations.

Yong Praises India's Growth Potential
Yong acknowledged India's significant growth potential and expressed Singaporean firms' eagerness to collaborate with the Indian government. He also conveyed his country's interest in becoming a partner country for the upcoming Vibrant Summit. Yong believes that partnering with Gujarat will position Singapore as a hub for fruits, vegetables, and dairy products in Southeast Asia.
Patel Highlights Gujarat's Role in India's Growth
Chief Minister Patel emphasized Gujarat's leading role in driving the agenda aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision. He invited Yong to attend the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024, showcasing the state's efforts to attract new investment in emerging sectors such as renewable energy, electric vehicles, semiconductors, food processing, and dairy products.
Gujarat as a Logistic Hub
Patel highlighted Gujarat's strategic location with a long coastline and global connectivity, which is transforming the state into India's logistic hub. He also discussed development and investment opportunities in India with Sopnendu Mohanty, Chief Fintech Officer at the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
Inviting Singaporean Businesses to Vibrant Summit
During a meeting with representatives of the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), Chief Minister Patel extended an invitation to attend the upcoming Vibrant Summit. The SBF's participation would contribute to fostering stronger trade and investment ties between Gujarat and Singapore.
Chief Minister Patel's visit to Japan and Singapore aims to promote the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, which will take place in January at the Mahatma Mandir Convention Centre in Gandhinagar.
