The Gujarat government has introduced the Gujarat State Institution for Transformation (GRIT), a think tank inspired by NITI Aayog, to achieve the goal of a developed state by 2047. GRIT has prepared a vision document and roadmap titled Viksit Gujarat @ 2047, according to an official release.

Leadership and Structure
The Chief Minister will lead GRIT's governing body, with the Finance Minister as vice-chairman. Ministers from agriculture, health, education, and industry will also be members. The ten-member executive committee, led by its CEO, will manage daily operations. The governing body includes the chief advisor to the Chief Minister, chief secretary, and additional chief secretary or principal secretary of the Finance and Planning Departments.
Expert Involvement
Experts in various fields like agriculture, finance, industrial infrastructure, health, nutrition, skill development, employment, and education will be nominated by the state government to join the think tank. A retired or serving additional chief secretary-level officer will be appointed as the CEO and member secretary of GRIT's governing body.
Strategic Goals
GRIT aims to review and supervise state schemes and programs, identify areas for improvement, and provide recommendations aligned with the long-term vision of Viksit Gujarat @ 2047. It will promote good governance to ensure consistent policy-making in line with the State Vision Document's priorities.
Economic Growth
The think tank will recommend strategies for balanced economic growth across sectors such as industry, agriculture, investment, and exports. It will also review successful policies and best practices from national and international contexts.
Collaboration and Technology
GRIT plans to collaborate with leading organisations for cross-sectoral partnerships and knowledge-sharing. It will encourage the integration of advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things, Robotics, GIS, Drone Technology, and Blockchain.
Financial Mobilisation
The think tank will advise on mechanisms to mobilise financial resources for development through asset monetisation, international financial institutions, CSR Trust Funds, and other sources. The governing body will meet at least once a year or as needed at the chairman's discretion. The executive committee will hold quarterly meetings.
The General Administration Department-Planning Division will issue a formal resolution outlining GRIT's composition and scope.
