HAL Share Price Today: Shares of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited crashed during the early trading hours on Monday. The decline in defence PSU stock has come days after the HAL-manufactured Tejas fighter jet crashed at the Dubai Air Show on Friday.
HAL shares were trading 3.1% lower at Rs 4,452 per share on BSE with a market capitalisation of Rs 2,97,989.42 crore at 9:38 am. The stock had touched an intraday low of Rs 4205.25 apiece and an intraday high of Rs 4482 per share.

HAL Tejas Fighter Jet Crash
The indigenous multi-role Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas fighter jet crashed in a ball of fire during the aerial display at the Dubai Air Show. This was the second crash that happened in two years involving Tejas fighter jet. The last accident happened in Rajasthan in March 2024, but the pilot had ejected safely during the incident. The recent Tejas fighter crash killed the pilot Wing Commander Namansh Syal. A court of inquiry has been initiated against the Tejas jet crash in Dubai.
HAL issued a statement in the matter and expressed condolences. "HAL is deeply saddened by the loss of the courageous IAF pilot during the aerial display at the Dubai Air Show. HAL expresses its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. @IAF_MCC @SpokespersonMoD @DefProdnIndia," HAL posted on X.
Why HAL Shares Are Falling Today?
The decline in HAL shares could be the result of investors sentiment due to the recent accident. Explaining the impact of such developments on HAL share price, Harshal Dassani, Business Head, INVasset PMS stated, "When a frontline indigenous fighter suffers an accident on a global stage, it triggers immediate questions on reliability, export readiness, and operational safety. Even though the government clarified that earlier concerns around oil leakage were unfounded and unrelated, the incident still places HAL under heightened scrutiny at a time when expectations are exceptionally high."
HAL Long-Term Share Price Outlook
"Trading at elevated valuation multiples, the market was assuming flawless execution and uninterrupted momentum in India's defence-manufacturing push. An incident like this doesn't change the long-term trajectory, but it does introduce short-term reputational risk, and investors typically move to reassess risk-reward when valuations are rich," Joshi added.
The outcome of Tejas fighter jet crash investigation and clear communication by HAL and defence establishment in the matter, will determine the investor sentiment.
