A Tejas fighter jet from the Indian Air Force reportedly crashed during a demonstration at the Dubai Air Show. The incident occurred around 2:10 pm local time at Al Maktoum International Airport. This marks the second crash involving a Tejas aircraft, with the first happening in 2024 near Jaisalmer.
During the air show, black smoke was seen rising over the airport. It remains unclear whether the pilot managed to eject safely. The Indian Air Force had announced its participation in the event with both the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team and LCA Tejas.

Tejas Aircraft History
The first crash of a Tejas aircraft took place in March 2024. During an operational training sortie, one of these jets went down near Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. This recent crash at Dubai adds to its brief history of incidents.
The Dubai Air Show, which began on November 17 and was set to end on November 21, coincided with Emirates' 40th anniversary. The show featured major aircraft orders from Emirates and FlyDubai, showcasing its significance in the aerospace industry.

This biennial event attracted industry professionals from 150 countries. Leading aerospace companies like Bombardier, Dassault Aviation, Embraer, Thales, Airbus, Lockheed Martin, and Calidus participated. The event served as a platform for military and business cooperation.
The Indian Air Force highlighted that over 100 air forces participated in this global event. Their aim was to enhance interoperability and operational edge while fostering cooperation among military and business entities.
The Dubai Air Show has become a significant stage for arms industries and aerospace companies worldwide. It provides opportunities for showcasing advancements and securing substantial orders within the aviation sector.
The Tejas crash is under investigation as authorities seek to determine whether any safety protocols were breached or if technical malfunctions occurred during the flight demonstration.
