Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar unveils plans to leverage the agricultural potential of African countries, inviting farmers from the state to seize lucrative opportunities and share their expertise in cultivating abundant African lands.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced the state government's ambitious plan to leverage the vast agricultural potential in African countries. Aiming to provide new opportunities for the hardworking farming community of Haryana, the state intends to invite farmers willing to travel to Africa for better prospects.

Abundant Land and Expertise Sharing
Khattar highlighted the availability of abundant land in many African nations. He revealed that discussions with ambassadors of African nations have taken place, and they expressed willingness to enter into agreements with Haryana in this regard. Tracts of land will be offered where Haryana farmers can contribute their expertise and offer techniques, benefiting both parties.
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the Works
The state government is in the process of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the African nations, which will formalize this collaboration. Once the MoU is signed, interested farmers will be invited to explore these opportunities. The state government is also prepared to assist farmers in this endeavor.
Addressing Shrinking Landholding in Haryana
Khattar acknowledged the shrinking landholding in Haryana, primarily due to industrialization. He mentioned that in recent years, many farmers from the state have moved to Madhya Pradesh, where land was available at cheaper rates. He emphasized the potential for Haryana farmers to develop and benefit from the vast agricultural landscapes in Africa.
Comprehensive Training and Support
Before sending farmers abroad, the government will provide comprehensive training and necessary assistance to ensure their success in agricultural endeavors abroad. This support aims to equip farmers with the knowledge and skills required to thrive in the African agricultural sector.
Haryana's initiative to tap into the agricultural potential of African countries presents exciting opportunities for the state's farming community. By leveraging their expertise and contributing to the development of African agriculture, Haryana farmers can not only improve their livelihoods but also foster stronger ties and cooperation between India and African nations.
